Western Governors University is pleased to announce the Future Black Women in Business & Finance Scholarship (worth up to $4,000) that can be applied toward any of WGU's School of Business degree programs.

Scholarship Details

The Future Black Women in Business & Finance Scholarship is designed to support Black women who are pursuing higher education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or Project Management at Western Governors University (WGU). This scholarship aims to reduce financial barriers, encourage academic excellence, and promote long-term career success in business-related fields.

WGU is proud to offer the Future Black Women in Business scholarship. We will award multiple scholarship - each valued up to 4000$ - to motivate women to achieve their dream of college degree in business, accounting, finance and project management.

Scholarship (valued up to):

$4,000

This scholarship will be credited to your account at the rate of $750 per six-month term, and renewable for up to four terms.

Scholarship Awards

Award: $4000 per academic session

Coverage: Approximately 90% of session tuition fees

Renewability: Award per session, subject to continued enrollment and eligibility

Get Started in Two Simple Steps

Step 1: Apply for Admission

To be considered for WGU scholarships, you must be provisionally accepted as a WGU student 1 . Please complete the admissions application and work with your Enrollment Counselor to move through the admissions process.

Step 2: Apply for Scholarships

To access the scholarship application, you will need your MyWGU student portal credentials, which will be sent to you after Step 1. You are eligible to apply for scholarships 90 days before and up to 30 days after your degree start date.2

1Returning WGU graduates should complete the Returning Graduate Application.

2Completing a current aid year FAFSA is required if eligible to submit the FAFSA. If you are ineligible to receive federal aid via the FAFSA, you will still have opportunity to be considered for WGU scholarships.

You may choose to pay for the remaining portion of your degree through federal financial aid (subject to your eligibility). Pell Grants, which do not have to be repaid, are granted based on financial need. Federal Direct Student Loans are available to most students. Subsidized loans, which are dependent on financial need, reduce the interest due on loans.
